Wednesday Webinars on Digital & Media Literacy in Europe: AI (Literacy) in Teaching & Learning

On November 20, the Media & Learning Association (MLA) is organising a webinar on AI (Literacy) in Teaching & Learning. This is part of MLA’s Wednesday Webinars on Digital & Media Literacy in Europe, a series of monthly online sessions focusing on various topics related to digital and media literacy. The topic of the sessions are chosen based on ongoing projects, media literacy trends, and ongoing collaborations with other organisations.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into education, its potential to revolutionise teaching and learning is accompanied by significant challenges. Among these, one of the most significant is the importance of educating teachers in AI literacy—understanding how AI systems work, recognising their potential and limitations, and being aware of the ethical implications of AI technology. The complexities of AI implementation in primary and secondary education require careful consideration to ensure it benefits both students and educators.

Session outline & focus

This Wednesday Webinar session will:

  • tackle the key aspects of AI in education
  • focus on how AI can empower teachers and enhance the learning experience.

The session will emphasise the critical importance of AI literacy, ensuring that both educators and students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and utilise AI effectively. The discussion will also highlight the necessity of comprehensive teacher training to facilitate the seamless integration of AI into classrooms.

Speakers will be announced soon. Participants can already register via the MLA website
